Why should I get my CV written by a professional?
Having your CV written by a professional can often be the difference between you being invited to interview (or not), securing the next step up in your career, or even commanding a much higher salary than you perhaps thought possible. The CV will be the first ever impression that a hiring manager or recruitment team will have of you. You will not be in a position to elaborate on or explain your achievements at this stage. The CV will have to do all of the work.
Typically, hiring managers do not take much longer than 30 to 60 seconds to review each CV. Therefore, it is vital for your CV to be well written, concise and decipherable, not only as an extension of you as a person but to ensure full impact on the reader, and alignment with the advertised role.

How does the process work?
I try to adapt my style to suit the needs of each individual - some prefer communication via telephone to consult on everything required for the writing process, and some people prefer email. However, loosely speaking, once you make contact with me I will respond to discuss your full requirements, current circumstances and, if applicable, to identify if there is any particular role for which you wish to apply. I then assess your existing CV (if you have one) and and supply you with a quote.
If you decide to proceed, I would then produce the first draft of the CV and any additional documents. Once you receive the first draft, we would then work together as part of the re-drafting process to reach the finished product.
If you purchase a LinkedIn profile as part of a CV package, the profile optimisation is delivered once the CV has been signed-off.
Why shouldn’t I just use AI/ChatGPT to write a new CV?
I understand why people use ChatGPT to write CVs. However, I find that the reason for my clients’ success in securing new opportunities after I have worked with them, is that I have taken the time to consult with them and understand exactly what they need. AI is not capable of doing this.
In addition, as human beings we possess an innate ability to differentiate human and non-human communication, and it is my experience that one can tell when one is reading an AI/computer-generated text.
It is because of that I produce all documents from scratch without the use of Artificial Intelligence.
How long does the process take?
My maximum turnaround time is eight working days. This period starts from date on which we agree to work together, and when payment and all relevant information has been received. The turnaround time is subject to any exceptional circumstances which may cause a delay, for example if before you receive the first draft you change the scope of the project, or you supply me with a significant amount of additional information to be factored into the document(s).

Isn't this cheating?
You could be the most gifted business person, insightful researcher, dedicated school teacher or accomplished lawyer in the industry. It might not necessarily mean you have the ability to convey your expertise and achievements in the most skilful way; a way that does your capabilities justice.

What if I need to make changes once you have written my CV?
Any amendments required after the first draft and within the scope of the initial project are covered. Simply contact me to advise that something needs changing and we can discuss it.
However, if you require future amendments following the completion of your project, there will be additional charges involved. Please contact me if this is the case.
